POLICY DIRECTIVES

The second level of architectural abstraction is the level of concrete policy directives that give shape to the general principles.

These are often more specific than the general principles. It is the translation of the general principles into concrete details for each domain architecture. For example standards and guidelines can be found at this level. The policy directives together with the general principles are referred to as the architecture principles.

Examples of policy directives are:

  • Process steps are continuously monitored as to efficiency and timely execution;
  • Process steps are completely traceable;
  • The counter personnel have a broad training;
  • Access to the network is only permissable through a log-in procedure;
  • Passwords are valid for a maximum of 30 days.
